For me its's 2/3 water and 1/3 Gatorade or Vitamin Water while hiking with a few small snacks along the way and a Cliff Bar once I reach the top. I tend not to get very hungry when exerting myself. Back at the trail head it used to be beer but now I've had to switch to a quart of chocolate milk. :D One time the store I stopped at didn't have chocolate milk so I drank a quart of egg nog on the way home and it almost put me to sleep.

Personally I can't stand Gatorade but I love Vitamin Water. I take it on some hikes and others I just drink it on the drive home. It does seem to help especially in hot weather when you're sweating more.

Protein right after exercise is supposed to help with muscle recovery.

I'm usually fine that night and the next day, but the few that really wiped me out completely I think I got dehydrated and didn't eat enough.

The only hike I regret is the one I didn't do.

My secret to not getting hungover is using Detoxicated before and after drinking. It’s like a multi-vitamin for someone who likes whiskey lol. I can drink my 3-4 glasses and wake up the next day not feeling like crap!

 Re: Hiking Hangover
Are you searching for the best hangover supplement? Then Detoxicated can end your search. Detoxicated is a natural hangover supplement that actually works! My siblings and I have been using it for the past few weeks and no hangovers have been experienced since!

You might want to try this product. It is relatively new to the market, but worth trying, not owned by Pepsi but rather made with natural ingredients by 2 doctors.
