Bob would need to get an avatar before he could change it.

Out of the 70 or so 4K hikes I've done in NH, there has only been ONE hike where I didn't see anyone else- Mt. Garfield in early March 2014. Felt cool but also kind of weird not seeing anyone on a 48 hike. OTOH, the 4Ks of Vermont and especially Maine are far less frequently hiked, from what I've seen. Guess everyone is too lazy to leave that magical NH state line

I have hiked many times and not seen another, though those are older hikes. Recently, I have timed my hikes such that I usually avoid throngs of others. I dunno Brian, about blaming the grid. I blame social media. Everybody and his brother/uncle/sister/aunt/cousin is out hiking these days, and posting pics on fb, twitter and whatever other social media sites I do not pay attention to. Seems the prevalent refrain is something along the lines of "Well, sissy did it. How hard can it be? And her pictures are beautiful. Honey, grab a water bottle and let's go!"

Whatever. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

If a younger family member sees a post I make and wants to go up in the hills and create experiences like this:

I'm all for it. That's one more potential person that could be speaking up for conservation in the future. Don't worry I'll carry a few more water bottles.

We'll see how crowded Kathy's mountain is in about 5-6 hours.

We should disguise the name so only us forumites know it's origin, like Mt. Hobbes or something.

I was in Crawford Notch today. HA HA. Though NOT on Pierce.

Not yet. 8) Though I did apply to adopt the Crawford Path up to Pierce. Alas. Someone beat me to it.

Kathy's Mtn. was not crowed today. But by the looks of the lot at Lafayette Place, nothing was. Today was the day. :)

t'was indeed. But wait. Did you hike Pierce? Did you see/hear the helicopter all day? They were re-supplying the huts. Pretty cool to see them at their base by the Highland Ctr.

Yes, I hike Mount Pierce. Did the loop by the hut. They wouldn't let me stay there when the helicopter was coming in to take some pictures.

Oh. Bummer. Wish I'd known you were there; would've been nice to see you. Funny that I was right across the street. I got some pics of it at the HC, but must've been cool to see - in a way - dropping the supplies. They brought a bunch of doors back from one of the huts. Guess they were trashed. ??

Hmmm, so now bob gets a choice of changing his avatar to either:

1) Lamb Chop the sock puppet

2) Phillip from South Park

3) Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes.

I would say he could mirror Joe too by putting a picture of Superman....but anyone who knows Bob also knows he surely is not that.  :D
