Marc Howes wrote: Nice job on Mt Tom, I grew up in this "general vicinity" (well, like 40 miles NW, but we used to go to the huge mall in Holyoke). I still haven't climbed mt tom but it is on my hit list. I do however have 5 of the 7 sisters already
The Seven Sisters Traverse is whats in the works next. HikerBob on ROT wants to set it up, maybe for April, I think.

Do you know if they were basalt formations? When I hiked over the "east of CT river" 5 of 7 sisters range practically the whole thing was Basalt (you can tell by the generally square cleavage of the rocks)
all my pics are here:

but specifically im talking about this one:

I'm no geologist, Marc, but I think it's all basalt.
My face only looks that way because Brian was singing at the time.
I'll plan another version of this hike for fall foliage and hawk migration season.

Hey Marc,
Yes Mount Tom has basalt formations. Habitat Info below(not much but something)
http://www.wgby.org/edu/source/holyoke/habitat.html
I have come across a handful of websites that verify it is Basalt
Be good

Should'nt you be adjusting light levels, backgrounds and cropping instead of playing around on the internet?
Did that rainbow picture come out (or have you got that far yet?)
