I know why ask here. Because I can. My software is about to expire this month and was thinking of switching- any recommendations? I have Norton have used Macafee, but heard about AVG and have been recommended for Firefox but haven't tried it. What do you guys use and what do you like/prefer?

If you are installing AVG free now. Just watch out. It will try to get you to install some of their other software that "tunes up" your PC or some junk. It's just more stuff to load up when your PC boots and will thus make your PC boot more slowly and eat up RAM for whatever little good it will do.

Actually was trying to remember the name of the Microsoft kne, which Bob had recommended, Microsoft Security essentials, I've lied that one and want to use it on my new notebook.

MSE is no longer nearly as good as it once was. I personally still use AVG free. I just watch out for the installation of other of their software packages.

I've been using Norton for years now. I never had a problem with it.
