 Problem sending PMs
For the past 2 weeks, I cannot generate a PM. I can sometimes respond, but even then sometimes though I get a "your message has been sent" display, the message simply goes to my outbox and does not get sent.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it submitted. I've tried responding, I've tried looking for the member and selecting PM from their profile. Both yield the same result...message held hostage in my outbox.

Any ideas?

I got an email notice last week about a message, but when I went to look there was nothing there.

I received 2 you sent me, so maybe it's cleared up ... or maybe it's a bit random ...

Maybe it's a side effect of Chris doing some anti-spammer renovations?

I couldnt even view the site for a day last week....

Not that I know anything but is your mailbox full? Maybe you need to delete old messages to generate new ones.

Other than that, I'm useless.

Jim, checked the capacity, all good on that front.

Tom said he got one of the messages that seemed to be hanging out in my outbox and didn't seem to be sent, so maybe it's just some weird display issue or maybe random as Tom says.

I won't lose any sleep over it.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Outbox means it hasn't been read by the recipient yet. Once it's read, it goes into the Sent box.

Everyone should be able to send and receive PMs, unless their mailbox is full. Kathy, I don't see any issues on this end, have you tried using a different browser? If you're still having issues, PM me (just kidding! post back here).

Salty, you're right; a message stays in your outbox until the recipient reads it.

Scooter, our host had some major technical issues last week, you should have seen the hate mail people were sending them!

An off-shoot of this. Is it possible to get spam pm's???

My regular e-mail notifies me that I have a private message on Hike-NH. This has happened three times now and there is nothing there but an original pm that I got a couple days ago from someone that wanted me to review a hiking product?

Or maybe it's just some Bruins hackers messing with me......

You're not alone with that PM

and I figured it was just another unknowledgable visitor from the north

Will I be interrogated by Montreal police now and arrested for slander?

Y'know, on some level I knew this....just didn't register.

Yes, that appears to be the thing. All set. No issue after all. Mountain out of a molehill.

So the problem wasn't sending PMs, the problem was getting anyone to read them ;)
