Just letting the group know, I bought this kind of on a whim while I was ordering some other stuff, and I will say it's pretty awesome.

I bunches up around your neck and acts like a scarf/neckwarmer. The center piece can be pulled up to cover your face, ears, or both. The hood is thick and warm, and can be worn with or without the face covering.

Nice! Next time I want to rob a bank I know what to wear! :D

Is it really wind proof? And is there a way to secure those pulls? I find in high winds regular fleece is useless (needs to be winds topper) and anything like those pulls that isn't tied down will whip me in the face constantly no matter what I try and do with them. Looks nice and warm if those two things aren't an issue.

I don't know if there's a technical definition of "windproof" but it's very thick and heavier than it looks in the pictures. I wore it near the top of Cannon last weekend, and on top of the tower up there and wind wasn't a problem, though it was present.

I wore it by tucking the bottom part into my fleece pullover, i suppose you could stuff the strings in there.

Hmm, that doesn't look like a delicious Turkish dessert, more like a balaclava

Looks interesting, even if just for snowblowing the driveway... price is right. Thanks for sharing.

The price is certainly right on it. Even if it doesn't work it will make you look like Emperor Palpatine.

That's what I look for in hiking gear. Stopping the wind and frostbite is much more important in hiking gear than just being warm when there's no wind to combat, at least for me. If you can blow on it and feel your breath going through it it probably won't do any good at all when the crap hits the fan unless it's as an insulating layer with another windproof layer over it.

Woolx makes an amazing balaclava!

Hoodlum works well for me. The fabric is breathable and at the same time keeps my entire head/face warm.
