Mountainsmith customer service - Yay!
Bought a Mountainsmith Boundary backpack a few years back, it was and remains the best possible all-round pack for me - YMMV.
On a recent trip I noticed that the rectangular metal rings (if that makes any sense) which anchor the shoulder straps to the internal frame struts had rusted. The rust made them rough, and on one side the ring had worn right through the strap; the strap was no longer attached properly to the frame. The other strap was worn, just not yet all the way through.
Got an RMA from Mountainsmith, shipped it out to 'em and got it back last week. IIRC total turnaround was about 2.5 wks. I paid shipping one way, repair was free, they paid shipping back.
Pack is repaired on both sides, and the shiny rings look like they might be more rust resistant.
Included in the return package was a very nice letter and a 25% off coupon for my next Mountainsmith purchase. hmmmm .... what to buy
Happy to be reunited with my pack
