 suggestions for Friday 12/9/16?
Hoping someone has a good recommendation for me from the 52WAV or NH48 so I can get outdoors on my day off. I've only hiked one mountain in the winter (Hedgehog), but have done 25 of the 4Ks in the other three seasons.

I was hoping to try Pierce, but the weather seems to be deteriorating. Anybody have some ideas for peaks that will challenge me, but still not put me at too much risk given my winter inexperience? FWIW I do have microspikes, but not snowshoes or crampons.

All ideas welcome

Welcome Jeconiah,

It may not be very challenging but we did Mt Parker last weekend and it's about 8 miles RT through a variety of woods. Little bit of up and down since you skirt Mt Langdon but we were able to do it bareboot the entire way. Things change quickly up there but would think spikes would be the most you'd need this week. Down low it was leaves then about 3-4 inches of snow near the summit

Oops didn't see this in time, but thank you! Haven't done Parker so definitely worth considering. I ended up doing Webster, and while the weather was bad I don't think it was dangerous and I still had a great time. Even without good views a day in the woods in pristine snow is really not too bad. :D
