You can tell it's been a strange year when VFTT doesn't have their wild flower thread going yet!
Prema has a Mother's Day breakfast at the nursing home and should be done by 10 or so. We have a not so committed commitment in the afternoon. If we do not go to that, we may do a relatively small hike. Any trilliums in bloom anywhere yet? I've seen a few mentions on New England Trail Conditions that some are ABOUT to bloom...

This from just outside the campground at Lafayette Place last Sunday. Should be out by now. There's a lot along the lower part of the Osseo Trail that should be peeking out.

Thanks, GG! My mother said to always listen to your gut or intuition or whatever. Last night I was looking at Ferncroft/Sandwich, etc. Now I know why! when I saw the weather for Monday, I asked my boss if I could have off, so Monday it is!

We're back!!!!! Saw the red, saw the yellow violets, and I saw a painted trillium on the Cabin Trail! Oh, by the way, Mr. Shelf Fungus looked very sad without his hat and his booze!

Hmmm... trying to guess the route. If you saw the fungi and the flowers I'll say Whitten Brook, Old Paugus, Lawrence, Cabin??

Still in Prema's camera! She and I will have to sit down, load 'em up, and follow your directions! 1. Cabin (where you pass those two houses). 2. Big Rock Cave - the area where it flattens out we saw our first trilliums. 3. Who's the #$%^&*+ who tagged the cave (it's fading, fortunately)? 4. Shorties had to take their boots off to cross the brook, haha. 5. Old Paugus - a few yellow violets going up the cliffs 6. FLURRIES! on the ledges. Lawrence - a few red trillium 7. Cabin - MY FIRST PAINTED TRILLIUM OF 2016! I have never been so damn tired in my life! what is it about this area and me? I do like it, though.

Any one looking for trilliums - Livermore Road had the painted ones in the hundreds on the way to Greeley Ponds Trail. Both trails had a few reds as well. Many white violets along a portion of the Greeley Ponds Trail.

Tons of Purple (Red) Trillium and a few Painted Trillium starting to show along the lower couple miles of the Osseo Trail Saturday. Hobblebush is starting to bloom too. Trees are finally starting to leaf out a bit...
