 Sunrise on Watatic/Gap
I want to try to catch a Sunrise and was wondering if anyone has done a sunrise hike on either of these. What time should I plan to summit for best views? And which one would be the better choice? Next option is Monadnock, Thanks

In general for the best sunrise (or sunset) you want to be there about half an hour before until half an hour after for the best colors and light.

I haven't hiked either of those mountains so no specific help of which is better. If it comes to Monadnock and you don't want to have to make it all the way to the summit by sunrise the many outlooks along the Cliff Walk fave east and should work well for it. Obviously the summit would be just fine too.

Watatic is a great sunrise hike.
If you take the Midstate trail, it's about 45 min-1hr to the summit from the parking lot.
If you park on 119 and take the "Up" trail (a straight shot directly to the summit), you can make it in 20-30 minutes.

GG is right that you don't quite have to make the summit at Monadnock to see the sunrise - you just have to make treeline on the eastern side, which is usually about an hour in.

Wachusett is also a good sunrise climb because they have a nice observation deck at the top. But there will definitely be more people there.
