I'm planning a stay at the Madison Springs hut after summitting Adams and Madison. The following day, I'd like to bag Jefferson and maybe Washington, without summitting Adams again.
Any idea how long it typically would take from the hut to Jefferson and then to Washington? (Decent hiker in 50's - not fast or slow)

"Book time" is generally calculated as 30 minutes per mile and 30 minutes per 1000 foot elevation gain. From the Hut to Washington (passing over Jefferson) is about 6 miles and 3000 feet elevation gain, so about 4.5 hours. Of course then you also have to get back to your car so you need to add more time for that. The terrain in the Northern Presidential Range is unique as well: lots of rocks and boulders. If you haven't hiked on that before then you should factor in some additional time.
