Hi,
I'm brand new to this forum and joined in hopes of some good advice on which trails to take! We will be hiking Mt Adams for the first time in June and I would like to know what is considered the easiest trail for a one day hike up and back down.
I've only ever hiked Mt Washington in this range (we like to start at the top!) and have taken Boott Spur twice and the Ammonoosuc once, none of which did we hike down for various reasons, but mostly due to different fitness levels and it taking us way too long to get to the summit! That said, We plan to hike Adams and obviously have to hike down!
Could someone please give me your best educated opinion on the easiest trail on Adams for this type of hike?
Much appreciated!

From the Appalachia trailhead, take Valley Way up to Madison Hut. From the Hut, take Gulfside to Thunderstorm Jct, and once there make a left and head up to the summit. It's only about 20 minutes from T-storm Jct.
On the way down - you have choices. Either take the same way back, or take Airline down to Gulfside, make a right to the Hut, and then down via Valley Way. There's actually a 3rd way, but if you're new to the northern Presis, my suggestion is to ascend via that route (Star Lake) first, before descending it.
