 Zealand & Bonds 6/7&8/2014
Hey everyone!
What an amazing weekend to get out there on the trails. I hope you all had a great time too. I had an amazing crew for this hike. Read all about it here.http://wp.me/p3XzRU-7Z. What are some of your favorite memories from your trips to the bonds? I love to see everyone's take on this exceptional hike. I will be up around Appalachia this weekend hitting Madison and Adams hopefully. Hope you all get to go to the places you enjoy most!

Brent

Looks like a great trip! I've been there twice and even more than the summits themselves, the most amazing part to me is when you clear the trees on the Twinway near Guyot and get those first views. My first time there was cloudy and rainy but I was lucky enough to get a decent day when I went back last July. I've never done it as an overnight....looks like a great idea to do that and wake up early to see the sunrise from the summits.

My favorite memories? We came in through Zealand under a full moon to catch the famous Guyot sunset. Bond was 47 and West Bond 48 (BC we did a few years ago) and our big finale was sunset on West bond obscured by thick thick fog! Thanks to your nice photos I can see what we should have seen! WE SHALL RETURN!

I love that spot at Guyot. It really does open right up for you. It was an amazing weekend. Can't wait to get back out there.

It is a shame it was all foggy for you, but like you said it is just an incentive to return. This hike is an amazing piece of NH so I recommend it often.

On the other hand, it was fascinating to stand on Bondcliff and look down into nothingness, like it was rising out of the void or something. The mists were just swirling around during the day, the bad fog was in the evening. We will definitely try again!

Kind of like my day on Madison today... Just couldn't get a break. Found a nice place on the Air line to have a couple of views over tea.
