 Waumbek winter parking
A quick question:

Is the winter parking area along Route 2 that I've seen listed on Meetup events and in TRs the same as the "lot for the Jefferson village swimming pool" mentioned in the WMG?

Not sure about that, but the winter lot is sort of diagonally across from the beginning of Starr King Road. Starr King Road is the road where the trailhead starts.

There is a dirt lot where Bob mentioned. If you google street view it you can make it out.

I think this will work

Also, just beyond that there is a gas station with a small paved pull off near a little monument that you can use. Just a touch more walking, but when I was there I trusted my car to get out of that better then the fresh snow in the winter parking :D

Thanks for that second option! I blasted my Corolla into an unplowed lot over at Ascutney yesterday, but there's no sense taking a chance on getting stuck. :)

I'll keep that paved pull off in mind.
