 Prominence and the 4K List
I've always have wondered why some mountains seem to have skirted the AMC's 200 foot prominence list and other's have been left out. Has the AMC, or some other group, measured the rise in elevation from the col, because the USGS maps have made me curious if some peaks should or shouldn't belong on the 4000 footer list. I've listed the 'close calls' below.

Lincoln Clean: 169 Optimistic: 209
S. Hancock Clean: 159 Optimistic: 199
Guyot Clean: 160 Optimistic: 240
West Bond Clean: 160 Optimistic: 240
Bondcliff Clean: 185 Optimistic: 225

The AMC goes by the "optimistic" variant as near as I've been able to tell. I don't THINK anyone has actually measured the cols, but perhaps they did when they surveyed the trails.

But why Guyot, which has more col by either optimistic or clean, isn't on the list versus S. Hancock, couldn't tell you (only the measuring the col directly answers that one). I was wondering the same thing this weekend, came up with no satisfactory answer.

Not a 4K, but here's another for you: West Sleeper (not on NE100 Highest). It seems to make it, certainly based on optimistic prominence (col between 3680 and 3700, summit at 3881).
