 Desi's 48 finish - Madison
Will probably do it this weekend, Saturday the 20th weather permitting. I know a few people that *knew* about this will not be able to make it. For anyone else, you are more than welcome to join us as long as your name doesn't begin with a P and rhyme with fetch.

I simply did not come here to be made sport of! How about Madison via Six Husbands trail? Yeah, I know, not the most direct approach.....

Sorry Petch.
I realize I don't know you well enough (or at all) to be making that joke but I just couldn't resist.

I will defer to Desi as to what route she wants to do since it is her finish. I know she's been browsing the map to see what trails are where.

I can't make it, I have to put on a tie and go to a stupid wedding where just about everyone is a Bruins fan. I'd rather hike at peak blackfly season with Brian singing at the top of his lungs........

Congrats in advance!

And my calves are still pretty sore from the awesome Boot Spur-Isolation trip...who is this Hardcore guy anyways

Well the candidates are Air Line, Valley Way (my nemesis) and Pine Link which would allow for some play time on the upper Howk's for those who would like.

If anyone has ever made a trip up Pine Link let me know what you think of it.

I am drooling for a trip up Air Line too but If I'm still sore it may have to be Valley Way. It is wide enough Becky and I could lean on each other

Lets see what the weather looks like and Ill ice my legs and ponder a route.

I have not been on Pine Link yet (though I have been on all of Howker Ridge trail), but I believe it offers saving a little bit of elevation gain. And while I have not been on it either (yet) I believe Daniel Webster Scout trail gets you to alpine zone quicker.

Do I detect a note of sarcasm there?:)

It's quite long, 5.4 miles, and a lot of elev. gain, 4000', but Osgood Ridge via Osgood Tr. looks real juicy. 8)

any consideration for a really awesome loop hike of going up Madison Gulf and coming down Osgood??? That sounds like a long day, may even make you be forced to use a wheelchair for a few days after, but what an accomplishment that would be!!
