Is it open yet? If not, do you know when it will be? Want to go up Osceola and East Osceola from that direction.

This link will give you the current status of the roads. As far as when they may be openning you could call the numbers provided on that web-site to find out more info.

Yup, that is the King-of-all-links for road openings. Don't expect them to open for at least another couple weeks. They are most likely snow free, but the reason they remain closed is to let them dry out (this is how the Forest Service avoids ruining the raods when they are soft during mud season).

Link was fine when I posted it. Has to be a site problem. I test links in the preview section before I post them.
I just fixed the original post. They changed the text in the link. Where it said recreation, it now says conditions. I suspect because it was still in winter mode and a lot of the roads are used for snowmobiles/cross country skiing. Problem solved

Talked to someone recently that wanted to do the same hike from the same location, not realizing the road was still closed. So she parked at the gate and did the 2.5-mile road walk in....and back out at the end of the hike, of course. So it's still possible.
Hey, what's an extra 5 miles?

says Tripoli Road is open. Your tax dollars are not spent on speedy website updates, apparently

A couple of people on VFTT have done Osceola recently and said that the road was open despite the status on the WMNF website. Enjoy!
