You're brave, hiking that mountain on that day. 8)

You'd think, but it wasn't bad. We did the Carter Ledge (visiting Gibney's Irrelevance of course) - Middle Sister Loop, and the 2 mini-loops along the ridge (Champney Falls Cutoff, West Side Trail). Aside from on the summit cone we saw a whopping 2 people. And maybe 3 dozen or so on the summit cone. It was very windy, so no one lingered but us, nice and sheltered and quiet just a couple feet below the summit :) And the foliage was tremendous, not that the photos capture it (and I don't spend any time in Photoshop to enhance things).

A few from today. Seems like foliage north of Mass is on it's way out. Bright colors are few and far between and the rain and wind really beat the hell out of what's left from what I saw.

Looks like someone took a looong drive. 8)

I did have plans to head to Stone Pond but since there was so much leaf drop and color change after the storm Friday/Saturday, I didn't bother.

3h 29m from my driveway to the park enterence. A new record for me. I've been trying to get there all month to see their foliage but it didn't work out. It's definitely past prime but some nice golds and the blueberry bushes are all bright red. Biggest waves I've ever seen. 20 foot high waves crashing 50 feet into the air along Ocean Drive. Some redlining had to get done. Worth the trip even without many bright colors. 8)

Is there any foliage left out there? The immediate coast has pockets around Odiorne and the Portsmouth Harbor Islands. Was hoping to get to the Blue Hills yesterday and check that out but the weather stopped that plan in its tracks. Anything, anywhere still worth checking out tomorrow?
