 The list Round 14
We are closing in on the big finale. Only a few more rounds to go! So continuing in Vermont we have:

Hunger
Jay
Journey's End
Monadnock
Owl's Head (Groton S.F.)
the Palisades (Fairlee)
Pisgah
Peg (Woodstock)
Stowe Pinnacle
Stratton

OK, Stowe Pinnacle, here is a pic I found from Google (because even though I have been there I don't have photos of my own. )

Image

Mt. Peg and the Palisades: Here is the TR I did for my trip to Mt. Peg (among others). Mt. Peg is the first set of pictures, Palisades the last batch.

Pisgah is another one I have to steal photos for from Google :D

Owl's Head: Greg's blog report. Owl's Head is the first batch of photos.

Journey's end: Greg has it again.

Hunger: 1Happyhiker's blog can help us out.

I'm wanting to say yes to all the Vermont peaks just because they have such good pre and post hike eats there. Here's my reports on Hunger which is a huge yes from me, and Stowe pinnacle, another big yes, along with a sampling of the fine foods you can get while bagging them! :D

Hunger http://forum.hike-nh.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=8847&view=previous

Stowe Pinnacle http://forum.hike-nh.com/viewtopic.php?t=7976&p=74774

I'm also in on Palisades, Pisgah and Owls Head. Is there more to the views from Journeys End and Jay than what's in the blogs? JE looks like an interesting hike but not sure it's worthy of a spectacular view designation. And if all Jay has is a view of the lower ski trails that's a definitel no. Peg it's hard to tell with the fog if that's a good view or not.

Monadnock and Stratton pics anyone??? Stratton looks promising. Monadnock appears to have a tower view. Any views without the tower?

Google turned this up on Peg:

Image

Journey's End: The view is the panorama into Canada, but yes that is it. I threw it on there for some variety, butt if it does not make it no biggie.

Monadnock and Stratton: Yes, the only views available require climbing the tower. I don't have any shots from the Monadnock Tower. I assumed people already knew about Stratton (because of the NEHH) but might have some I can post later.

Monadnock courtesy of G.E. A tower view though. The view is said to be towards Colebrook. I imagine S/SW would be even better.

The views from the Monadnock Tower are indeed really great (as is Stratton for that matter). If it were not for my self imposed rule about views from towers in regards to this list I would not hesitate on adding them. In fact go there. Forget about this list. Just go there. You won't be disappointed with the views. :D

Ok, well, they are in my To Do list anyhow, may as well make them count for another list since I'm in favor of towers.

I came close the day I did South Baldhead. Finished that up around noon with nothing else planned. Problem was I didn't have a clue of where the trail was. Kept looking at it my entire road walk out.

IGN. An un-educated vote is worse than a no-vote, IMHO. And I'm too lazy to do research on 'em. I wlll let the wisdom of those in the know carry this section...and I'm ok with that. I trust you.

OK, it looks like the only "no" vote for anything at all is my one against Monadnock (despite loving it! :D ) so it looks like all 10 pass this round!
