This looks like good news for EMS, at least in northern New England -

I used to go to the local EMS here in Concord, but I think I have been there probably about 2 times in the last two years. Why? Horrible service. It is a shame too as there isn't much in the area for hiking gear (I do it all online now and hail mary my shoe purchases). Bad for the company but it really won't affect me in the overall scheme of things.

I think retail must be about the toughest job in the world.

I've actually had pretty good experiences with the Concord store. I don't go in often, but when I do, they've been courteous and knowledgeable. I did have to wait once for a sales person, but it was at a busy time anyway, so I can't complain.

Mostly I'm buying things where I know as much about the product as any salesperson, so don't really need advice. I buy boots based upon brand as I know which brands fit my feet, and I wait for sales at STP.

Mostly I'd like a more convenient REI than N. Reading in order to avoid shipping costs. That one's too far, and has lousy service anyway.

Doesn't look like nh is on the list. I like the concord store, but it would be nice to have an REI in town.
