Correction for ya. The High Blue Trail listed under Warner is in Walpole.

Thank you for the hard work.

Did you consider sites that have the old maps and/or sites that have present day topos?

Thinking of the UNH library and the NHF&G topos.

Not sure if these apply since they are not directly hiking trails

Very nice work by all who are involved here. I've been really busy with the holidays but now that things are back to normal woudd love to contribute. I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are after but here's some of the information I use around my area (Exeter/Startham)

This site has lots of good maps and information on the trails in Exeter, including the Oaklands and Henderson/Swasey Town Forests, the Phillips Exeter Academy Trails and a few smaller conservation areas.

http://town.exeter.nh.us/parkstrails.cfm

This one has a good map of Stratham Hill park, another of my local favorites.

http://www.strathamnh.gov/Pages/StrathamNH_BComm/BOS/strathamhillpark

And finally this is a good little trail along Great Bay at the Discovery Center at Sandy point, especially for kids. Two minutes across the street from Stratham Hill but I think for the purposes of this project it's technically in Greenland. I can't find a good map online but they have them when you're actually there.

Tom, since the idea is to try and log all current useable trails the old topo's on the UNH site probably won't help (though they are indeed a great resource for researching things like lost trails, etc. and I use them from time to time.) And the F&G topos I use a lot for hunting, and while they do a great job of showing easments and town forests/lands they tend to lack much in the way of good trail data. As for your link in the second post....nice find. I bookmarked that one for personal use. :D

JWP and GG, looks like some more good links. Will get them added in probably end of this week or weekend.

"Oh, and thanks Mike for actually popping in here for the correction." You're such a jerk. I'm not hiking with you anymore until a day that starts with "S" comes up. So there.

Yeah, I came across that recently while trying to map out land ownership in the North Country, and it's been very helpful.

We may have a problem then, because I can only hike on days that end with "day".

:P

That IS going to be a problem. Most days end with "night" ;)

Purgatory Falls hike, known from the milford/Lyndeborough end as the Mcclellan trail. 6 miles round trip. Nice day hike moderate trail. Trail is also maintained by the Mont Vernon Conservation Commission in conjuction with the Wah La Lum trail from Dow Road. This is a link to the Mcclellan map that I could find.

OK folks, a quick update:

I got a chance to sit down today and start working through the file Walrus sent me with all the stuff he found. And boy did he find plenty! I think his additions will come close to doubling what we already had. There is so much of it that what I am going to do is add info in batches (both to make it easier on Jim so he does not spend his entire night copying and asting the info, and also to make it a bit easier for me in both writing out the code and checking for errors in the code when Jim posts it.) So I sent the first batch to Jim to post up. Look for that soon. I will try and get more batches out to him over the course of the coming week or two, as well as the few additions the others here have posted. This is turning into an eye opening experience.....all the trails out there I never knew existed!!!!!!!!

I'm sure that's the same for most of us. After you started this I did some Google-ing and was surprised at what I found. Trails in my hometown I didn't know were there.

Jim was also telling me about a bunch of trails near him in Springfield as well. It is nice to know that if I have some time to kill and don't want to drive for hours I can just pick up and go 20 minutes from my house and walk for a while. :D
