Eastside Trail, along the Pemi
Decided to sleep in this morning, then exercise my civil liberty and vote in the Presidential Primary and then exercise my body with a skiing test. Hadn't been out on the BC skis with a pack so headed north. Checked out the Eastside Trail along the Pemi. Figured there would be less traffic and better conditions than across the river. I was not wrong. Great outing. Learned a bit about balance with the pack, gotta layer differently than when hiking (still have not mastered the no-sweating thing), boot fit on the smaller foot, blah blah blah.
Enough about me, on to the pics
At the beginning
Dappled sunlight along the way
Not even the brooks are frozen over
Lots of healthy birches
Finally found some snow-cone trees
Not the best, but better than nuthin

Re: Eastside Trail, along the Pemi
A nice Tuesday off?? Lucky you! I had to work all day and then wait in line to exercise my liberty after that. I like your exercise better, and I like the Eastside Trail better than the otherside trail that shall not be named. Too bad there is no bridge at the end to cross anymore. Pine Island was nice in the fall too. No idea if it's even traveled in winter but it made a nice little loop using the two of them.
