Did a quick out and back last weekend on the Tris. Managed to get a great workout, sweat out about 3 gallons and avoid the crowds.

Passed by this sign so so many times, finally stopped to snap a picture

Nice rock work in some sections

It probably took me 3x longer than usual to hike the 1st half mile with all the water shot ops
Image

lots of roots and rocks that make me long for winter hiking

Pine Bend Brook is so pretty

We did this last year. I was tired and it was getting late, so we just did North. I thought they should rename the upper part the Profanity Trail, because never before had I heard the F word used so much by other hikers    . Most of them had come up by way of the North Slide or the Scaur. I love the flat area in your photo; Prema had a moose cross her path there.

I know I don't need to tell you this, but don't get dehydrated! Last week we were on vacation. Mon was Red Rock Mtn loop (Evans Notch), Tuesday Winneweta Falls, Wed Speckled Mtn by way of the Spruce Hill Trail. Thursday was the walk-in/ER at Memorial Hospital in North Conway for an IV that dope here(   ) needed for sweating too much and drinking too little.

I fixed your sentence. It can happen to anyone.

It's SOOOOO easy to get dehydrated in the weather like we had this summer. Well, for me it is. I had to turn back on my Whiteface/Passaconaway hike a couple weeks ago b/c I drank way more than I thought I would and at the Whiteface ledges checked my bladder and knew I would run out if I continued on. As it was, I ran out about 10 mins from the car - but that was no big deal.

Part of my problem with the heat is that I get sick of drinking just water - and I don't care for 98% of the electrolyte tablets and/or drinks out there so I have to really force myself to drink. Then it sloshes around in my stomach.....ewwwww...TMI? :P

No, no TMI! But there's a condition called hyponatremia, over-hydrating, which can kill you (very rare, but there was a woman marathoner who did a few years ago). Well, to get back on track, those lovely streams along Pine Bend are more than just pretty!
