 Stonehouse Pond - 10/20/16
I'm going to give this one the Kathy treatment. No time for a full report, I'll get to that later on (yeah right!! ) But here's some pics from Stonehouse Pond today. Easy hike around this little gem in Barrington. Herd path the whole way, I went clockwise around and up the Stonehouse. Nice birds-eye view of the water below and Blue Job in the distance. Foliage was out in force and definitely peaking. Some rain and wind and I think it'll be all but gone. Anyhow down the other side for an easy cruise back to the car. Whole loop only took an hour with a long break and plenty of photos. One mile loop with 300 feet of climbing for the whole loop.

Very nice! I remember this place from one of your previous trip reports. Looks like a great place.

Nice...wish I had read this report a few days ago, we just had lunch in Barrington on Sunday and were looking for things to do outdoors.

Saw this report and was thinking of going. When I googled to get directions to the trailhead, I
came upon an article about a suicide in August near the ledges. That just creeped me out.
Needless to say I didn't make it.

IIRC the guy was successful in his attempt but I think he did it in the woods on an adjoining piece of conservation land. Sad, but it happens frequently at beautiful, natural spots. It's a pretty frequent occurrence in Acadia for some reason. Guy Waterman on Lafayette as one of the more famous examples.
