1. Screw the Alpine Garden! I'm going here!

2. Are those pink streaks in the snow, or did my %^&* granddaughter draw on my screen again?

Wow. Your trip was a complete success. Awesome! We were surprised the sun set so late also. We tried so hard to stay up and see a Montana night sky, but we were too tired every night and fell asleep (the full moon over Thunderbird Mtn didn't help either). The wildflowers are spectacular. I have to agree with jamie...lol....great scenery out there. I told you we came up from the other side, and it was striking. We hiked a little way into Boulder Pass, but not the whole thing. Of all the places in the country that I have hiked and backpacked this is the one I want to get back to the most (and do your itinerary) so I will not be looking at your 700 pictures. I'll wait to see it myself. And if you ever get there again, go up through Canada and hike to HOL from the other direction. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and I should have mentioned before you went (sorry) Super 1 stores carry bearspray for around $35. So glad the trip was a success.

I've been away and am now catching up on trip reports. Echoing what everyone else said: awesome report, awesome pics, awesome park. Wow! Unfortunately, I'll also echo what Joe said: I'd like to think "someday", but will probably never actually make it.
On a side note, there's a throne like that in the woods at Pillsbury State Park (which I've used). But it obviously it doesn't have the view that that one does.
