Helping out a friend get a few more check marks on her any season 48 so we headed for the tripyramids.
I'm not keen on loose footing on slick rocks up the slides so we headed for the Kanc and Pine Bend.

This pine at the beginning of the trail was pretty cool.

I'd forgotten how peaceful this entry section is with so many pretty little areas along the brook.

Soon hit the wilderness boundary and took a break. Sometimes the coolest scenery is overhead

Image

The trail gets a little sketchy, with more of a "path less travelled" feel to it

Love this stretch approaching jct with Scaur

Limited views from Middle, but not too bad

My Stats:

6.5 hours car to car
9.6 miles rt
1 PBJ consumed
1 Gallon H2O drunk
27 Gallons H2O sweated out
5 Gnats dug out of eye sockets
378 gnats swatted from in front of my face. What's up with these things? Do they find us and then fly backwards as we're walking????

Wow, so you lost over 200 lbs? (1 gal of water is 8 lbs)

Nice photos, I like the one with the backlit leaves in particular.

I've managed to avoid the HHH so far this summer. That middle section of the PBT that climbs rather steeply must really be tough when it's hot and humid. You do a great just with the blurry water pics, hand held I assume.

This is just slightly off trail but gives meaning to Pine Bend. :)

And the "path less traveled", doesn't seem so in November.

You should have gone over to Scaur Peak while you were there. There is a conversation going on on a Facebook page talking about how it was once called "The Fourth Pyramid" but was changed to Scaur and thus was born the Tripyramids from the other three. :D

New camera? The pics seem more saturated and contrast than usual. Lots of POP! Love the leaf shot. Nice of you to help your friend on that on on a triple H day. I'd have told my friend to pick a hike above treeline or let me know know the TPs look these days! :D

Nope. That is courtesy of the magic of editing in Flickr. Thanks for noticing though.

And Joe. HA HA. Funny that you have that exact same shot! 8)
