Re: Mount Kineo 5-22-2016
I had fun re-visting this one last fall. It was just as neat a whack as I remembered it. But the Mt. Kineo trail from the other side is much more interesting....albeit longer.

Re: Mount Kineo 5-22-2016
I did not mind the hubbard brook side as it was just long enough for me to not give up, turn around and go home. I was looking at something under five miles and this hit the spot. The elevation gain was a bit much but I was looking for antlers so too much up and down.

Re: Mount Kineo 5-22-2016
Any ticks? I don't usually worry about them up north but lately any area that seems good for moose makes me think it must be crawling with the little bastards. I just read an article on how 75% of the moose calves are dying from tick infestations lately. Too bad for them, and us, someone can't come up with a spray to wipe them off the face of the earth!

I don't understand why you didn't also do the nearby, delightful Mt Cushman hike again. It was so much fun the first time!

I think I had two on me. I know one was attaced to my foot when I changed (found it when I got in the shower) and the other one fell off my shirt on to one of the dogs.

Re: Mount Kineo 5-22-2016
I don't use the word "hate" a lot when it comes to hiking (well, except when Salty's name comes up), because any day out in the woods is better than being at work. But two hikes I will never do again are Mt Cushman, and anything involving The Link trail near Caps Ridge.

Or was more of a, thank god I'm still alive?

I think that's called "delirious" I challenge you to come up with a happy-face picture of me on the Link trail.
