 Cannon - not Camel's Hump
I was planning to start driving and keep on going right past the state line. Yep. I was. Figured I'd get myself over to the upside-down-NH.
Sooooooooo...I had Camel's Hump on my radar. But then I got conflicting info about parking. One report said no problem,
another said potential for $150 fine. Uhm. Yeah. I just spent $150 so that wouldn't work for me. I can hike in NH for free.

So slept in to let the ice soften up a bit and headed north.

Wasn't sure where I'd end up but didn't want to be gone all day. Hadn't been up Cannon lately,
and hadn't been on the Hi Cannon trail for some time so Franconia here I come.

I managed to get on the trail before the few dozen boy scouts milling about the parking lot.
All good though as I took a hard right here. Good to see a new sign.

Took a break to catch my breath and built this little guy

Later, on my descent I found that he had a buddy. :)

Time for traction?? Nah.

OK. Fine. Now it is

Traction off

Traction on again. Played this game for a bit.

Couple of clouds

Ahhh. Right. The ladders. Going up.....

Got a bit sketchy after this so no more pics. I did take some video from the observation tower,
which I had to myself. But videos take for EVER to upload.

I wigged myself out on the way up when I once again caught my pantleg with my hillshounds. I KNOW I KNOW.
Sometimes I'm a slow learner. I contemplated coming down another way, either KRT and walk the bike path or KRT down to the hut and out from there.
Figured either way had the same potential for the stupid mishap so instead I chilled the heck out on the summit,
had some coffee and something to eat, rolled up my pantlegs and headed back the way I came. All's well that ends well. I lived to hike another day.
And shop for gaitors.

Life is a trip ~ pack accordingly

For a winter with so little snow all the trails are now all in grave danger, that crap just wont go away.
