A winter hike to the true summit of Mount Paugus, with Brian.

How hard is it for a non-whacker to find the true summit. I'd like to hike this one this spring and actually get to the top and not just the south peak.

It's easy to make mistakes there; we did last fall. But I'm glad we did, because we ended up in some nice areas. Looks like you did, too!

When I did it with Brian, Joe and Bob, we went to the height of land on the trail, headed north and then stayed to the right of the ridge once we got to it and had easy going. I don't recall Bob being all whiny, so it must have been decent. :P

All in all it is a pretty easy bushwhack. There is a little bit of scruffy stuff ringing the summit area, but nothing I would call horrible. It is short and you shouldn't have too many problems. 8)

As long as I have you by my side Mike, I'm happy.
