I'm ATT, and work is Verizon. I also had an old school pager as well. Fortunately, neither were required

I had Verizon for years before switching to ATT 2 years ago. I found for the true backcountry like the Bonds, Baxter or Adirondacks they both stunk, like any other service I or my friends have had in our travels. For sort of middle of nowhere mountain tops and small towns and back roads Verizon was better but ATT is pretty good still. Both have been great on main roads and towns. Neither has service in Blackwoods. :D I also had Sprint 10 years ago and their coverage was terrible anywhere off the beaten path but I'd like to think they have improved that since then.
