Mt Chocorua -- and the unexpected!
Yesterday, I had the pleasant opportunitiy to hike to Mt Chocorua with 8 wonderful people. Lisa, Maggie, Bonnie Hiker Amiga, Adam, Bob and Pete played hookey from work to join together for a hump day hike. It was the usual perfect day to hike, with moderate temps, little wind and no bugs. The 360 degree views were once again spectacular and we enjoyed fine fellowship within our group and with the others on the trail and on the summit. After the hike went to Traunt's Tavern in Woodstock for a big dinner, to enjoy their great food, and more fellowship.

As I'm hiking daily these days I don't have time for any t.r., let alone a complete one, I must relate that this hike is dedicated to Todd. Now for the unexpected! Just as the tree line ended before summiting, one of the beautiful women, Maggie an RN, stopped to relate the following stunning details of why *she* joined the hike: Three years ago her husband was killed in the Iraq war. Chocorua was their last hike together. They were married only 7 months. Tomorrow is the anniversary!

How to recover from a bombshell 101!
From another site, this is the best I've ever read!

I have to imagine that yesterday was one of those moments.

All the best wishes for Maggie.
And my reply:
"Yes, this was "one of those moments."

And several moments of tears, from all of us ...
more than once.

Your post explains it perfectly. Thank you!"

Falls under the catergory, ' One of the top three poignant moments of my life. Others replied also. This one the deepest. Hope you feel it too!

I'll be bringing some prayer flags this Saturday with a special one for Maggie and Todd.

Thanks Magic!

See you over the weekend at the Flags on the 48 outdoor outing jamboree.

Prayer Flags are great, and I thank you, pucknuts!

Hi Magic,

If you go through the photo album of Garfield you'll see a shot with 5 prayer flags on 1 line I brought for Todd and Maggie.

God bless,
Bill
