I know I'm going crazy but a series of unfortunate events this winter kept us away. Di with her shoulder problem, then here mom took sick and passed away, then I hurt my back. I'm telling ya this getting old crap is for the birds. Anyway were trying to get back into hiking condition and should be on the trails soon. We're actually thinking of some small elevation gain type hikes to waterfalls and other neat things to hike back into shape.

Brian, I'm very sorry to hear this....I wish I had known. I hope Di is doing better now and we all get a chance to meet up soon.

All the best,
Bill

Dang Bri, sounds like some tough months you had. My condolences as well.

If you need company for some of those small hikes, Jen and I are happy to tag along. I'm not chasing any lists now (nor likely to any more) so I am happy with anything from super-short to kick-my-butt long. I pretty much have any Sunday free from after this weekend till the end of summer.

FOT 48 is just around the corner. A little birdy told me we are crossing our fingers for something on the Presidential Range!

I finally had a chance to see Arethusa Falls this past weekend. It's a GREAT hike....fairly easy and a lot of bang for the buck.
Hikes like that are a fantastic way to get back in.

I'll keep you posted but check out the thread on our July 22 Hike-nh hike to Morgan/Percival

From what we did of the Ethan Pond trail it looked to be pretty nice, and Jim tells me when the trail levels out it gets even better. Eventually I may make my way out there, though I possibly my come in from the other direction and (if there is a carspot) head out for the full traverse.

Hope all gets better soon. Had a rough patch ourselves this winter, some major surgery for my mom, my wife's father passed away young and unexpectedly, I know how that stuff can be. Getting active and out can only help. Best.
