I was thinking of snowshoeing Artists Bluff tomorrow. It's easy and through nice pine with a great view of the Franconia Notch. It's supposed to be in the single digits there...."YES"! :D

Artists Bluff is always nice. Lonesome Lake or even the Basin Cascades trail right down the street are probably pretty awesome too. Lonesome Lake is always one of my favorites but with a fresh coating of snow on the big peaks across the road and blue skies would be stunning. Wish I could get there to see it for myself :(

Wow GG....it's 4am and it's 4 degrees out there. I just checked the temps for the Bluff, and it's COLD & WINDY! It was so warm a few minutes ago in bed with the wife and cat. I usually feel pumped to go out at this time, but right now, I'M NOT! Oh screw it, I'm going. I will bring some of that wool and gortex you were telling me to use. I think I'm gonna feel cold today. I figure I'll take the Bluffs trail instead of Bald Mt trail. It's only a 1.5 miles R/T. Should be easy with the snow shoes. OK...let's go! Trip report tonight!

Later! Image

We got about a foot at our place. I got up E-A-R-L-Y and husband and I went xc skiing out back in the moonlight this morning, at -8 below! Unfortunately the snowmobiles hadn't been out to break the trail so I got to do that :? , However, it was a good work out instead of going running down by the river  I'm psyched!! Except now they are talking RAIN Friday and Saturday, boo hoo  Guess I'll have to make the most of the snow until then.....
