I've heard about it but don't know much about it. I can't say if I'm for or against it really without more info. The Sierra Club is a little like the boy who cried wolf to me these days, turning everything on their agenda into doomsday scenarios that don't always, or even usually, play out. Just curious why all of a sudden the pipeline that is
already in place will now inevitably spill this toxic sludge into the rivers it crosses?
I was however amazed last summer to just find out there's an oil pipeline already that runs from Portland to Montreal, and has, for 60+ years! Who knew!? If you're wandering the shore up that way in between the Spring Point Light and the Portland Breakwater Light you'll see a big black and red ship that they told us is the loading point/start of the pipeline. Kind of ugly docked in between two nice little lighthouses. I've vacationed on an island in Casco Bay since I was a kid and I'll admit the thought of an oil spill gumming up that gorgeous area is probably enough to make me not like the idea, even without any other info.
