Northern Lights Friday and Saturday Night
Looks like we may be in for a good show Friday and Saturday nights! I've never seen the aurora and really want to! Here's the alert:

"Another solar event took place on the 13th of March.  The effects from this
event on the aurora could occur as early as 10am on the 15th in time for the
magnetic midnight in Alaska at 2am (AKDT) in the morning of the 15th.  The
best auroras will probably occur in the night of the 16th/17th.  The effects
of the large coronal hole facing Earth right now will probably be seen on
the night of the 17th/18th."

I woke up last night and saw some greenish flashes out the window so I went out to investigate. Turns out it was LIGHTNING in March! I missed the last aurora event because of clouds... I'll miss this one too because I'll be down in southern CT :x

We're hoping to catch the lights this Saturday night from high up in the Southern Presis. Got my fingers crossed!

The lightening was crazy down in my little corner of the state last night. Flashes and bolts like I haven't seen in quite a while. I was tempted to set up my camera to capture it but was slightly more tempted to go back to sleep.
