I like the snow. It needs to snow more.

I am sure some of you are out there on this beautiful sunny, bright, balmy, slightly breezy day, hiking as I enjoy the weather from my couch in front of the wood stove, thank you very much!!!

But the skies are so blue when it's -20. Image

Well....I'll be damned. March starts tomorrow and Southern New England is on track to finally get some snow. Thought we were going to coast right to Spring (March 20), but alas, not likely.

I took one last hike on the Holyoke Range this morning before the snow arrives. Goodbye for now, dry trails.

Dry trails? I hiked Peaked Mountain in Monson, MA Sunday and it was all mud. Nice little hike, by the way. I'll take my kids up there later this year. The damage from the tornado last year is still very evident, which is sad.

And it has already started snowing here. Maybe I will get a chance to work on my snow shoeing afterall!

The section of the MM Trail I was on this morning was quite dry; unusual for this time of year, for sure.

I was driving down Rte. 19 in Brimfield a couple of weeks ago (to get to a band gig in Stafford Springs, CT)...The damage from last June's tornado up there is quite mind-boggling.
